Winter Chill

Well once again the fangs of winter are sinking into the verdant abundance my world.
The leaves are shedding their luminous autumnal hues for the crisp, crackling brown of the winter witch. The trees themselves are shedding the leaves in favor of conserving energy for the coming winter.
The ground grows brown and gold, hardens and frosts. As does my heart. Winter is a pleasant state for some, the white snow a cleanser and refresher. However, my soul desires the chaos, the viciousness of spring. And while in the past I have been granted with the wonders of a fall burst into glorious bloom, this year I received no such blessing. The heat of summer is reluctant to give his power over to winter's queen, and the battle has left no room for autumn to flourish and spread a peaceful transition.
Perhaps the weather simply mimics the world.
